*Scoring system: 10 points for a win, 5 points for a tie, 1 point for a shutout, 1 point per goal won by (max. 7 per game).
*Tiebreakers (in order of use): W-L, head-to-head, GF, GA, playoff period/coin flip.
*Any major = EJECTION. Three minors = EJECTION.
*Overtime will not be played in non-playoff games.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Rec B (6 teams)
Division A – Butler Bombers, Militia, North Pittsburgh Bulls
Division B – Bill’s A, McKeesport Magic, Purple Power
Top two teams in each division plus top third-place team advance to playoffs. First-place teams seeded 1-2, second-place teams seeded 3-4, wild card seeded 5.

Rec C (12 teams)
Division A – McKeesport Assassins, Steel City Mafia, Sylvester’s Cleaning
Division B – Cudas, Team Pitt Snipers, Window Nation
Division C – Bill’s B, South Hills Invaders, Steel City Strikers
Division D – Apocalypse, Bulldogs, Mean Machine
Division winners, second-place teams plus top two third-place teams advance to playoffs. Division winners seeded 1-4, second-place teams seeded 5-8, wild cards seeded 9-10.
Elimination and quarterfinal games may be re-seeded to avoid repeat matchups.

METHOD OF PLAY
*First period of Saturday games is running time. Clock also runs when one team takes a 7-goal lead and continues to run until the trailing team gets within 5. First period of elimination games is running time. All other playoff games are stop time.
*Game ends (MERCY RULE) when one team leads by 8 at the end of 2 periods or later. NO EXCEPTIONS.
*During running time, minor penalties are 90 seconds, major penalties 4 minutes. THE CLOCK DOES NOT STOP DURING PENALTIES. Penalty begins when ball is dropped. During stop time, minors are 1 minute, majors 2½ minutes.
*At Bridgeville HockeyPlex, the wall is IN PLAY.  
*At RMU Island Sports Center, the nets above the glass are IN PLAY.
*FLOATING BLUE LINE WILL BE USED.
*Signaling for a pass with a high stick is a penalty only if it endangers an opponent.
*You may clutch the ball with your hand, but must immediately set it down.
*Face-offs after penalties are deep in the offending team’s end.
*All face-offs are at the nearest dot.
*American Street Hockey Institute rules apply.
*In elimination games, ties are broken by shootout. In quarterfinal and semifinal games, overtime is one 5-minute running-time sudden-death period followed by shootout. In championship games, overtime is one 10-minute running-time sudden-death period followed by shootout. Teams do not switch ends for overtime.
*THERE ARE NO TIME OUTS.
